About
Kelly M. Morin (Murphy)
I love my job! I have been teaching art in Glastonbury Public Schools for eleven years. I have taught at every grade level there including elementary, middle and high school. I received my bachelor degree in Art Education and Connecticut Teacher Certification in Art Education in 2001 and recently finished up my Masters in Art Education at Central Connecticut State University. I am most fulfilled when I am creating and inspiring. I have a well rounded mastery of many three dimensional and two dimensional art media in
cluding: drawing, painting, ceramics, jewelry design, crafts, textile design, printmaking, animation, and graphic design. The subject matter in my work is just as eclectic as my many hobbies and interests. I can be found dabbling in anything from landscape, seascape, architecture, figures, portraiture, animals, still life, and even abstraction. I owe my versatility from my experience working as a commissioned mural painter and, of course, to my experience teaching my ever curious middle school art students. I live in Higganum, Connecticut with my husband Jason, where I enjoy the view of the rural landscape from my studio window. My non-art related hobbies include vegetable and flower gardening, cooking, kayaking, hiking with our dog Sadie, boating, traveling, running, raising chickens, and skating as Murphy’s OUTLAW for the Stepford Sabotage of the CT RollerGirls (which is currently on hold as we welcomed our first child, Jillene, in February!).
